Horticultural Description

Asparagus plumosus pyramidalis, of course is not a fern at all but a relative of edible asparagus. It has feathery plumes of evergreen foliage with red berries that will grow several feet long. It is more dense and does not climb on other plants or trees as does plumosus. Asparagus will take a lot of sun but give you a fern like affect. Zone 10. NEW 2012.

🌿 Jen’s Bench Notes:

“In our Lake Erie greenhouses, this cultivar produces its most vibrant foliage when given consistent morning light and steady warmth. When your order arrives, allow it to settle for 24 hours in indirect light before potting up into fresh, airy potting mix.”
